The most unfortunate and damaging myth about online home business is that the income can come quickly.

It *may* be possible for a “big dog” with an established network of partners, to create a residual income of $1000 in one month. But this will never happen for the average person building from scratch.

Consider this:

The average internet MLM pays $2 to $7 per person in an organization. To earn $2000 - $7000 per month, you need 1000 people in your organization.

This is very possible to achieve. But it takes time.

Myth #2: “It’s A Ground Floor Opportunity - You Must Join Today”

When someone says: “Ground Floor Opportunity - Join Today” what are they really saying?

Is it: (1) “People who join after me have less chance of making money than I do” ? OR (2) “The company will be useless in two years time” ?

Would you want to take a year or two to build a good residual income, only to have that income disappear?

And what would happen to the suckers who join in six or seven months time?

A good business opportunity should actually improve with time and exposure. It’ll be based on products (or services) - and delivering more in the product value than the dollar amount people are paying for it.

(Yes it IS possible to find such companies on the internet. I know a few).

Myth #3: Make A Ton Of Sales and You Make A Ton Of Cash

The way MLM (truly) works best is if a large number of people each help each other to make a small numbers of sales.

Let me show you what I mean:

In an offline business we were in, a guy joined who was an awesome direct mail marketer. Soon he put together a masterly direct mail campaign to promote this opportunity. He invested a lot of money then unleashed his packages. In five weeks he had several hundred people in his downline, and was earning several thousand dollars per month.

But within two years he had dropped out of that company.

Why is this?

It’s because almost none of the people he brought in were able to do what he was able to. So he wasn’t able to help them grow their businesses. (He possibly didn’t have time to help 500 newbies). And since the monthly purchase requirement was $130 in this particular company they soon started dropping out.

The point you really ought to understand is this:

“In MLM, you don’t make much money from making sales - You make much money from building an organization!”

This brings us nicely to the next and final myth:

Myth # 4: You Build From The Top Downwards

Many people feel that you “come in at the top”, then bring people in “under you”. They reflect this in their attitude to the job.

If you’re smart, you’ll know better.

You build from the bottom.

At the start, there’s no one else in your business. You just have a dream, and help from your company and upline.

You find three bricks and place them in your foundation. Then you physically support them from below. Yes, they’re a bit heavy at first, but you do the job - you continue to support them.

One morning you wake up and there are nine bricks in your structure. From the three you started with.

You’re supporting the nine brick structure now, and because you do, it continues to grow. Eventually, when you look up, you find that you have a solid building, based on “below support”.

Can you see it?

The bottom “bricks” are people you recruit and assist to take their first steps as marketers of your opportunity. When they help other people, your organization expands.

The point is that the engine that drives lasting MLM growth is people helping other people, in small numbers, and everybody doing their share.

At the beginning your job is to sponsor a small number of people and support them, and encourage them to make sales… encourage them to encourage other people in the same way.

Once you build a small group of people and the helping culture takes hold, you’ll start to develop a rapidly growing organization… that grows rapidly and wildly with a momentum you couldn’t stop, even if you tried to.

1. Develop your dreams, goals and objectives. Studies have shown that very few people have written dreams and goals, yet those who do achieve high levels of success. Identify your dreams first. As yourself, if time and money weren’t inhibitors, what would your life look like? Describe your dream house in great detail. Likewise, get a mental image of your dream cars, vacations, wardrobe, lifestyle and so on.

From those dreams, develop your goals. A dream is the big picture, and goals are the steps that will get you to your dreams. For example, let’s say your dream car is a Aston Martin DB8 with a cost of $225,000 and a monthly payment of around $3,800. What are the steps you need to take to achieve that dream? An increase in your income might be necessary, so your goal would be to increase your monthly income to, let’s say, $10,000.

Next, you break your goals down into bite-size objectives (in our example above, this would be the things necessary to increase your monthly income to $10,000). Each day, you should review your dreams, goals and objectives in order to determine your daily activities.

2. Be coachable. MLM is a business of duplication. Those who’ve already been successful will share their secrets to success, and all you need to do is listen and then do what they tell you. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very coachable in the beginning. I was successful in traditional business and figured I could do the same things and be successful in network marketing. Boy, was I wrong! Because I didn’t listen to my upline leaders, I didn’t make any money at first. Successful MLMers have been there, done that–and have the paycheck to prove it–so be coachable, and duplicate their success.

3. Work. Network marketing has probably produced more millionaires than any other industry, and although each of those people built their businesses with different companies and using different methods, they all did one thing–work. MLM isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme; you’ll only get rich through hard work.

One of the main differences I see in those who fail vs. those who succeed is their level of work. Most people who’ve failed treated their MLM businesses like a hobby, working whenever they had some spare time. The top income earners, on the other hand, work at their businesses every day.

Let’s say that after a thorough evaluation of your schedule, you can only devote 10 hours a week to your business. Take a daily planner and block out those available time slots. Remember, work isn’t filing, checking e-mail or surfing the web. Work in MLM is prospecting, presenting, following up, registering new associates, training and support.

In the beginning, you should spend 90 percent of your time on prospecting, presenting, following up and signing up new people. As your network builds, you can devote more time to training and support. But never, ever stop prospecting, or your business will die.

4. Make lots of friends. The advice that made the biggest impact on my success in network marketing was to go out with the idea of making lots of friends instead of a million dollars. You can only be successful in network marketing if you help others become successful. So go out and find some new friends who you can help become successful in your business. Forget about your wants and needs, and serve these friends instead. This concept is called “servant leadership”–you lead by serving those you lead. The more friends you make and serve, the greater your success in network marketing.

These five principles of success are just the start. I’m sure that your sponsor and upline leaders have their own list, so make sure you ask them how they became successful. And finally, realize this: It’s one thing to have this knowledge–and a whole different thing to actually do what you’ve learned. So be a doer, and watch your business and income skyrocket.

5. Be consistently persistent. Most network marketers give up too early. They expect to make $10,000 their first month, and when they don’t, they quit. But it takes time to build an MLM business. You’re going to have to contact a lot of people, give many presentations and endure a great deal of rejection. However, it’s the person who is consistently persistent who will succeed.

If you’re duplicating a successful system, the only thing separating you from success is time. When things are looking dark, keep going. Make one more call. Talk with one more person. Follow up one more time. If you’re with the right company, you should never give up because you’ll eventually be successful.

Efusjon / Efusion Energy Club Business Overview

Activity Number 1: Understand what makes you money!

You only make money when you sell stuff! Sounds simple, I know, but so many people spend the majority of their time doing stuff that does not make them a dime! When you understand what makes you money, you need to spend the vast majority of time doing that activity. This means spending less time reading and following what the latest “guru” is teaching you about marketing.

I can’t even fathom the number of people in network marketing who waste their time on the Internet reading and researching stuff when they should be sticking to the following money making system to leverage the Internet:

Get an autoresponder like Aweber

Set up a landing page.

Drive visitors to your site.

Call the leads you generate, see if they qualify, give information, and set a time to follow up.

Follow up.

That is it! Pretty simple! If your landing page isn’t pulling the way you want it to, change it!

Activity Number 2: Document Your Time!

The next activity that produces the highest return is documenting where you spend your time. The Internet is the ultimate way to waste a whole bunch of time! People in network marketing spend hours upon hours just reading stuff and wasting time! STOP. Here is the ultimate way to gain control of your business and personal productivity: Every 15 minutes, track your time. You will quickly see how you are spending your time. More importantly, you will discover how you are wasting your time!

Activity Number 3: Simplify

Definition of Simplification: Cutting out all the crap that is not important!

I hate to play drill instructor, but people new to network marketing need to read this: 1) Call your cable company and cancel your service; 2) quit hanging around friend who brings you down; 3) start working out; 4) spend more time with your family, 5) and most importantly, spend time by yourself, improving your self!

Network Marketing is about as simple of a business as you can get. All you need to do is: generate leads, call them, and follow up! (Yes, this is overly simplified, but you get my point.) You don’t need to spend hours reading stuff online. You don’t need to read message board after message board about network marketing. You need to make this business simple, and to do that you must make your life simple!

What always amazes me is how many people say they want to live an amazing life, but then settle for their comfort zone. When you leverage simplification, it is easy to become absolutely clear on what you want in life and what you do not want! If you don’t watch television for two hours a day, you will fill your time doing something else. For example, if you are not wasting time watching TV, you might spend time working around the house or doing other activities that are productive.

Generating leads, calling them, and following up might be boring work. However, it is simple and can totally change your life! Stick to the time-tested, proven plan!

Success in online network marketing can be boiled down to 5 main ingredients that combine to form what I like to simply call the “Profit Formula.”

There are hundreds and even thousands of different methods you can use online (or off) but all of them end up falling under one of these 5 main categories.

Just like an algebra equation that balances itself out, when you put all of these 5 ingredients together, the only possible outcome is a money-making business.

But just like with a recipe for baking a cake, you need every one of them in order to produce the results you want.

Here’s what you need to make your business work:

Traffic + Content + Conversions + List + Monetization =

Let’s look at each one…

1. Traffic

This is the glamorous part of online marketing. Anytime we think about making more money we naturally assume that the only sensible way to do this is to get more people to our website.

This is true to an extent – but it’s far from being the only thing you need.

Too many people are led astray in a never-ending search for the “holy grail” of traffic generation. The “silver bullet” that will solve all their problems and flood their website with more traffic than an eight lane superhighway during rush hour.

Well, in case you’re still looking, here it is:

The truth is, traffic generation is the easy part…IF you’re faithfully implementing the other four ingredients.

Of course that doesn’t mean traffic generation should be ignored. Nothing happens until someone sees your message!

Here is what your traffic-getting strategy should be:

If you’re just starting out, the incredible power of social media is the way to go. It’s free, it’s leveraged, it doesn’t require any complicated knowledge of search engines to get initial results, and it builds powerful relationships with prospects and customers.

Then, as soon as you can, you want to move in to paid methods as quickly as possible (while continuing to build and leverage your social media traffic streams).

Who in their right mind would ever pay for traffic when they could get it for free?

2. Content

This is the oh-so critical “value” component of the equation that I’m always ranting and raving about. The reason this is so important is because this is the biggest part of the equation that has been missing from network marketing for decades!

This is the “uniqueness” that you and you alone provide to the world. It’s what sets you apart and gives prospects a compelling reason to do business with you over everyone else.

Your content should educate your prospects and solve their most pressing problems. And there are many different types that you can use at different stages of your marketing funnel. There are basic forms like articles, blog posts, videos, emails, etc. And there are more advanced forms ranging from webinars to ebooks to coaching to home study courses all the way to full blown in-person seminars.

The goal is to gradually progress to more and more advanced levels of content. It’s very simple:

It’s crucial that you understand this component of the formula because the people who own and control content have the most leverage. They control the traffic. They have the most joint venture opportunities.

They have the biggest lists.
It’s basically like controlling the oil supply.

3. Conversions

While value (content) attracts the audience to you, it and it alone is not enough to get most people to take action. A decent amount will, but not the majority. And not the amount you need to make a full time income.
In order to do this you have to learn how to motivate people to take action. That’s what a conversion is: Whenever any type of action takes place. To put it in more layman’s terms: You have to learn how to close.
But just so we’re not mistaken: Learning how to close doesn’t always mean having people give you their money. That is the end goal of business, but there are conversions points along every single step of your marketing funnel that require people to take action.

Believe it or not, you still have to sell the value you’re giving – even if it’s free!

If you’re struggling to make money, my greatest advice to you is to become a voracious student of copywriting. It has a dramatic impact on every single aspect of your business.

It determines whether or not people decide to…

• Read your ads
• Click on your ads
• Opt in to your email list
• Read your subject lines and open your emails
• Read past the first paragraph of your emails
• Click on the links in your emails
• Read your articles or blog posts
• Watch your videos (and continue watching them)
• Ultimately buy your product

Copywriting is basically what moves the whole process along. It makes sure that a prospect goes smoothly from point A to point Z without getting stuck or lost or distracted along the way.

4. List

Which one of these ingredients you need to focus on depends on where you’re at with your business. But the goal of all these activities is to be continually building your list of prospects.

See, building your business online really isn’t that different from doing the warm market/cold market thing after all The point is still to build your list. The difference is how you get people on the list and what you do with them after that.

All – I repeat ALL – successful marketers have a list.

Big pay days never happen overnight. But if you continue to grow your list it will. I guarantee it.

There is one overarching golden rule to always remember when it comes to list building…

The quality of the list is more important than the size. There are a few things that affect this.

• How did people get on the list? Did they come from a glowing endorsement by another marketer? Did they come from pay-per-click? Did they come from your facebook account? Were they opportunity leads that you purchased? Every traffic source produces different quality leads.

• What steps did they take before getting on your list? Have they already consumed a lot of your content before they opted in? Did they double opt in or single opt in? How much information did you require they give you to get on your list? In some cases you want to make it easy as possible to get on your list and in some cases you actually don’t. Just know that the more hoops someone jumps through the more qualified they are.

• The most important: What is your relationship with the list? Do you continue to provide them with tons of value once they get on your list? Do you relentlessly pound them with offer after offer? How often do you follow up with them?

5. Monetization

Monetization is simple: Offering products that relate to your prospects needs.

This is where your MLM fits in. Building a list comes first, not building a downline. Monetization is the fun part and it’s where you really want to start thinking outside the box. Obviously you want to generate income with your business as fast as possible.

This means asking yourself:

Affiliate programs are the fastest and easiest way to begin selling other people’s products to earn commissions. But my biggest tip for you here is to begin developing your OWN products.
It’s much easier than you think and the benefits are beyond what you could imagine.
Having your own products (info products are the best) gives you more profits, more control, more credibility with your prospects, more lead generation power, more advertising options… and… it makes selling other things like affiliate products or your MLM a thousand times easier!

This is a major focus of our mentoring program and the results that people have already been getting are astounding.

The goal is to have automated monetization so your income isn’t dependant on you always having to work. But if you don’t have a huge list yet, a great way to begin making serious money with yours right from the get-go is by offering consultations. It’s an easier sell than most products because your prospects are desperately looking for one-on-one help (it has to be value based though and not a pitch-fest). This is how I got started and it’s one of the quickest ways that many of my students have gone from zero to $2-3k/mo in almost no time flat.
